The statue is sanded down for a smooth surface, removing any damaged paint or debris. Cast damage is repaired by sculpting or carving.

Classical Painting

I use the Old Masters technique in oil painting and work with high pigment oils. I use soft tones or vibrant colors (i.e. vestments, depending on the statue I am working on.. All statues are completed in a matt finish for greater realism.

Statue Base

I am experienced with base finishes in stone, slate, greenery, wood and marble finishes.

Gold Leaf

The garments are finished with 22kt gold leaf. This gold burnishes with time, becoming more and more lustrous. That is the beauty of gold.

Ultraviolet Sealant

Statues are finished with an protective sealant in a matt finish.
